Welcome to Simatra, a product owned and operated by Shipscale Software Solutions Private Limited (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), with its registered address at Kursi Cowork, 3rd Floor, LK Logistics and Corporate Park, Raipur, Chhattisgarh 492015, India.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of:

  • The marketing website at simatra.io (including blog, contact, and demo booking features), and
  • The Simatra cloud Platform at app.simatra.io (accounts, jobs, and computational services),

collectively, the “Services.”

By accessing or using the Services, you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Services and Accounts

Simatra provides cloud-native materials modeling and density functional theory (DFT) computational services, plus related website content and demo scheduling.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree not to misuse the Services, attempt unauthorized access, reverse-engineer our proprietary systems (except to the extent open-source licenses expressly allow for open components), or use the Services for illegal purposes.

A request to book a demo or a free trial does not, by itself, create a paid subscription or guarantee capacity, SLAs, or specific compute outcomes unless separately agreed in writing.

2. Website Features and Third-Party Tools

The marketing website may include:

  • Informational content and blogs
  • Newsletter signup
  • Demo scheduling via third-party tools (including Cal.com embeds and widgets)
  • Links to the Platform and external resources (e.g. documentation or open-source projects)

Third-party tools are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services we do not control. Your use of Cal.com’s booking interface is also subject to Cal.com’s applicable terms.

3. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Services—excluding User-submitted data and third-party open-source components—are the exclusive property of Shipscale Software Solutions Private Limited and its licensors, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

4. Third-Party Software / Acknowledgments

Simatra uses Quantum ESPRESSO, an open-source density functional theory (DFT) code released under the GNU General Public License, as one of the computational engines available on the Platform. Simatra is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Quantum ESPRESSO Foundation.

Simatra also offers KRONOS, an in-house DFT engine, as an alternative backend. KRONOS is open-source software released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (see https://github.com/kdpisda/kronos).

You are responsible for complying with applicable open-source license obligations when using those engines, including citation requirements for Quantum ESPRESSO where your use requires them.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services or other users’ workloads
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to probe or breach security
  • Use the Services to process data you do not have rights to process
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when booking demos or creating accounts

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES AND ALL COMPUTATIONAL RESULTS ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHIPSCALE SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AVAILABILITY, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY SIMULATION RESULTS, DEMO, OR WEBSITE CONTENT.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SHIPSCALE SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Shipscale Software Solutions Private Limited and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.

9. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you also acknowledge that policy.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable law, courts in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising under these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page and revising the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
